Monica Mindelis was born in São Paulo, in 1978. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in São Paulo and since 2000 she has been exhibiting regularly.

In his work, she explores the fundamental duality of the world that crosses and conditions the existence of all things, supported by the realization that life needs death, like the shadow of light or the evil of good.

Her work is often developed in series or sets of pieces that start from the painting to sometimes reach the other solutions closer to sculpture. The formal contrast woven between stain and line, opaque and translucent, heavy and light, they underline the terms of the dual research that yearns for stability and balance.

With the creative process nourished by the work of Gaston Bachelard, Mindelis' work is summed up in the gesture of bringing out an understanding that is internally generated and that is consummated in the plastic and also poetic decision.
